Election Integrity Project California Volunteers Needed
Are you ready for a REALITY CHECK?
Early voting in California's Presidential Primary begins on February 3. And vote-by-mail ballots are mailed out the same day to ALL registered voters in Orange County. So that is when our work begins. All registered voters in Orange County will receive a Vote-by-Mail (VBM) ballot, and the vast majority of those who vote will use that ballot. (EIPC) hopes you will NOT use that ballot unless absolutely necessary - it is much safer to vote in person on Election Day or at a Vote Center during the 11 days they are open.)
If we are not there to observe and to protect the integrity of the process by which those ballots are verified, remade and counted, elections can be manipulated along the way, with no one the wiser. WILL YOU HELP???
Even if you can go only once or twice during the 60-day period of time, we need you!
Step #1 is to print, complete, and return by snail mail documents to me. You may email me to receive the applications. Let me know you would like the Ballot Processing training materials. (All paperwork must be updated; previous applications and agreements have expired.) As soon as I receive you documents, I will send you an email with attached training materials to print for yourself along with a link to the short training video.
If you would be willing to observe at a Vote Center in Orange Co. any time between February 21 and March 3, please also check that box on the application. This training will also be by video on your computer; there will be no in-person training in Orange County. (We hope to have a coordination team and county trainer in place for the November election. Please contact me if you are willing to help.) Because of three major laws that have been passed since the last election that will impact voting in a very visible way, as well as a complete change in the way OC citizens vote and the confusion inherent in a partisan presidential primary, it is imperative that we have a large number of observers, and all veteran observers retrain.
As soon as I receive your completed application for ballot processing observation training, I will forward the link. The Vote Center observation training link will be provided on or about February 10.
